Friendship's garden.......

I have been informed by my aunty that I'm not updating my blog enough. I hereby declare that I will try harder to blog on a more regular basis!
This card was one that I made for my last set of workshops. It was a very popular one with my ladies, I have to say. I found this friendship quote on t'internet and thought that it would look great inside this lych gate. The gate and fence were cut from white pearlescent cardstock and decorated with lots of teeny flowers punched from more pearlescent cardstock using a Martha Stewart Hydrangea punch. The gate was adhered with foam pads to a piece of patterned paper (leaving the gates unstuck) which was matted onto coloured cardstock with satin ribbon trim and bow. The sentiment was computer generated onto Safmat and adhered inside the gate arch. A smattering of pearls completes the card.

A magical birthday wish.....

Last month Kabir, the delightful son of our good friends was seven and I sent him magical birthday wishes with this card featuring the Genie from Disney's Alladin. As Disney characters go this one was easier than most to put together with just a few fiddly-tiddly bits. The layout is uber-simple with starry paper from a past edition of Creative Cardmaking simply double matted with red and gold card, the genie adhered with foam pads and Kabir's name and age cut from gold starry holographic card to finish.
Simples!

All the best........

I've got another commission card for you today. One of my hubby's colleagues left the hospital last month to return to Ireland, and another colleague Dawn, asked me to make a card for the Department to sign, so what's a gal to do? Make a card of course! As usual it's an A4, and the design was left up to me. I used papers from a past edition of Creative Cardmaking and a fancy frame cut from white pearlised card. I added some flourishes, and flowers punched from gold and blue cardstock. The wording was cut from gold cardstock, the name being shadowed with blue. The wording was adhered flat (too many foam pad slivers otherwise!) and 'Mary' was adhered with foam pads. A ribbon bow across one top corner completes the card.

Fancy frame- Ornamental Iron 2

'Single' birthday wishes.....

It was my nephew David's birthday last month and I made him a card inspired by a magazine. The magazine card was made from kraft card and was a single sleeve (single as in 45rpm vinyl record) with a 'record' inside it. I changed it by adding the sleeve and record to an 8x8 card. The paper on the front of the card was a freebie download. I created the record sleeve from some kraft cardstock, cutting a circular aperture in the front before adhering it together. I also used a circle punch to create a semi-circular notch at the top of the sleeve.

I created a 'record' from black pearlised cardstock and blue paper, slightly smaller than the sleeve. The sentiment on the 'record' was created with rub-ons. It can then be popped into (and out of!) the sleeve- just like a real record!
I finished the card off with David's name, some punched stars and musical notes cut from black pearlised card.

Violet..........

The middle one of the GirliezNextDoor had a birthday last week and Violet from The Incredibles flew round to wish her a happy birthday!! A Disney Princess wouldn't do this time, so I went for something a little 'older'. Violet was cut from textured cardstock and adherd to a C5 card decorated with papers from an old edition of Creative Cardmaking. I added some blue polka dot ribbon and Millie's name cut from blue glittercard. The sentiment was computer generated, then adhered to the card with foam pads. A smattering of punched glittercard stars completes the card.

Millie- Car Decals
