Tiny miracles!

Oh Boy.... this photo is sooooo bad ! Sorry everyone!! When I came across the word 'miracle' on a new cart I thought it would be ideal to use on a new baby card, but one for say, a prem baby or an IVF baby. They are little miracles aren't they? I just layered up a panel with three different papers, added a layered flower & a bow and three more flowers with button centres on one card & flower shaped brads on the other. I pushed tiny brads through the holes in the buttons as an added feature. The word miracle was glittered and raised on foam pads over a shadow. I then used white alphabet beads to spell out either ' your tiny' or 'a tiny' and placed these above the word. To finish off I added three gems to the ribbon beside the large flower.

I thought of you today

First off... sorry that the photo is slightly blurred! This card is made with papers from the DCWV Sweet pad, a floral one & a very pretty pink tartan. I simply layered them up, added satin ribbon & a bow and some layered flowers. I chalked the bottom half of the words with a contrasting colour to add definition & impact to the word.

You are so beautiful to me......

I've just finished this card in time to post today! This card finished up totally different to how I meant it to- but I really like it! I used paper from the DCWV Sweet stack which was scalloped with a Fiskars punch. I added a large Hot Off The Press bloom which I folded in half and some rub-ons to complete the sentiment. I didn't have any pink glitter & have not been able to find the right pink anywhere so I made my own (well mixed it anyway!). Just take some white glitter - I had a lot left over from Christmas - put it into a pot and add the colour of your choice, mine was dark pink, put the lid on the pot (well duh!) and give it a really good shake to mix it. You can give it a stir with a cocktail stick to make sure that it's really mixed. You may have to shake & stir each time you use it as the colours may seperate .Ta-Da!! Perfect colour!! I cut the SO out of pink card and added the glitter and it was just the right shade. The 'beautiful' is also glittered. The rub -ons are K & Co. I added three tiny heart gems to the ribbon to finish it off.

Sweet 16!

These two cards use the same paper but are totally different. I thought that the paper from DCWV Sweet stack (filled with yummy sweet treats!) would lend itself very nicely to 'sweet' themed cards and what better than Sweet 16!! The card with the single flower uses Bazzil Swiss Dots paper as well as the sweet paper. I rounded the corners of the panel added a stacked ribbon flower, pink tartan numbers and glittered 'sweet' along with three punched tartan hearts. The other card again uses the sweet paper, matted & layered on pink. A scalloped circle bearing the number 16, a satin ribbon ,three layered flowers and a glitter flocked sweet complete the card.
I think I'm using far too much pink these days!!!

You Make My Heart Sing!

I loved this phrase and I came up with this card to utilise it. It started out as a CASE of another card but ended up totally different! The glittered paper is from DCWV Sweet stack. A Fiskars punch was used to punch/emboss the white piece with three tiny hearts punched from background paper. Three white/pink layered flowers,a ribbon bow and a little heart punched from the same paper embellish the front. The phrase was mounted onto a scalloped rectangle and applied with foam pads to add dimension.

Race For Life

The annual Race for Life fun runs will be rolling out all around the country in the summer ( Portsmouth's is on 19th July) so I made a card- a litle early I know- to celebrate it! I used a strip of Pink Petticoat paper and added a breast cancer ribbon. Cards with this theme could be sold and the proceeds go to a very worthwhile charity. Check out the dates for a run in your area!

A little Princess...

When I saw this paper by Imaginisce I thought that it would make gorgeous cards for a little princess! I used three different designs and beacuse they are double-sided I mixed & matched them. The card on the right is a very simple layout using 2 papers & I added a crown on a scalloped circle and a layered flower with a paper rosebud as it's centre, layered onto a ribbon bow. The card on the left uses the same crown but it has been put at the top of a scalloped oval with a cascade of flowers on either side. The sentiments are a little different but either sentiment could be used on each card.

WOW!!!!!!

The backing paper on this card was a freebie with a magazine. I thought it would be great on a birthday card. I cut the circle element from red card & backed it with green & blue. I added red felt ribbon from Papermania & an acrylic emebellishment from Lakeland. I wish that their craft dept. was still around-you could get some great stuff from it. The sentiment, WOW and the green dots in the red ring are all glittered.

It's time.....

Ever since I saw this Icon I have wanted to use it!. It could be used for a Retirement card too. The backing paper is from a pad I bought in the States. The clockface was cut in tan card and the word 'TIME' was backed with blue glitter card. and the roman numerals & 'it's about' were backed with burgundy. I added Primas, a bow and gems around the clockface between the numerals. The sentiment is cut from the same card as the clock face.

Mr & Mrs

You may recognise this card from a previous post. The sentiment is the same but the layout is slightly different. This is yet ANOTHER wedding card for the son of a friend of DH. The backing paper is cute, flamingoes & pink hearts! I added felt ric-rac from Papermania & a layered Prima with a Laura Ashley fabric brad in the centre. Mr & Mrs was cut from patterned paper and shadowed in beige. This was then added to a pink panel. I added some paper pricking on either side of the ampersand and cut a notch in each corner & added pearl brads from Papermania. Hope you like it!

Start your engines!!!!.....

I bought the Disney Cars cart last week and made this little beauty with it! The characters name is McQueen (I wonder who that is based on?!!!!) and I loved the face on this one. There are some lovely cars on this cart including a couple for the gals . There's a VW camper van that would make a FAB lovebug!!! I hand cut the road and grass. The sky is from a DCWV stack.
